BIOGRAPHY

Wes Ruelle is a Minneapolis, MN based pianist, keyboardist, composer and music educator. He plays with a large variety of groups of many different genres. Although jazz is his specialty, he plays everything from classic rock, country and folk to funk, soul and pop. 
In addition to performing, Wes is a adjunct piano instructor at McNally Smith College of Music in St. Paul. He also teaches lessons for Northwestern College through their Academy of Music program, and for Cadenza Music in St. Paul. 
Wes grew up in rural West Bolton, Vermont. He started classical piano lessons at age 6, then moved on to jazz at the age of 13. By age 16, he was leading a jazz piano trio, playing gigs at local restaurants and bars throughout Vermont. 
Wes graduated in 2007 with a Bachelor of Jazz Performance with a minor in Classical Performance from William Paterson University in New Jersey. There he studied with many NYC jazz greats, including Mulgrew Miller, James Williams, Jim McNeely, Armen Donelian, James Weidman, Rich DeRosa, Steve LaSpina, Kevin Norton, and many others.
